Summary/Abstract: Seas and oceans are essential to human well-being and life. They have their vital, economic and global purpose. On the one hand, they are used as trade routes and a source of food, on the other, they influence the climate as a natural regulator, on the third, they have a direct relationship with the resources of the planet, and last but not least, they are a preferred place for walking, relaxing and recreation of tourists. The Black Sea is known to suffer from several threats, such as overfishing, habitat loss, climate change, various types of pollution, including environmental degradation. At the same time, its contamination with solid waste, given the international name marine debris or marine litter, is a cause of serious concern. On the one hand, this has a harmful effect on organisms and human health, on the other hand, this waste accumulates in the deep sea and remains there for years, breaking down into microparticles, which leads to the impossibility of their removal and absorption by marine species as food. On the third hand, through sea currents, plastics oxidize the ocean, and this leads to global warming.
