Forms of Mass for the Jubilee Year – Theology of Prayers

Summary/Abstract: The presented article presents the theology of the prayers of the new Mass formularies intend-ed for use in the Jubilee Year. They are a special kind of oration, pointing to the importanceof the Holy Year in the life of the Church, which is quite strongly based on the importanceof the Christian understanding of hope. This article aims to highlight the multifaceted natureof the new Mass forms, while emphasizing their connection to the theme of the Jubilee. There-fore, the text is divided into three parts, treating the three new forms in turn. This allows oneto perceive the theological thought contained in these orations, and thus to celebrate the liturgymore consciously. This is because it is the center of the Church’s faith.
