Summary/Abstract: The book is dedicated to Dimitar Nenov (composer, pianist, architect), one of the leading figures in Bulgarian musical culture in the first half of the last century. It fully presents the composer’s note archive and some of his correspondence stored in the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, fund 216 “Dimitar Nenov”. The note materials and related verbal ones are analysed and annotated in detail. Their content is revealed, and a systematization is proposed. An attempt was made to find and scientifically substantiate concrete or hypothetical answers to the mythologies about his life and creative destiny that have been imposed in the public space for more than half a century. The book emphasizes the open nature of the research on creativity and the personal presence of the unique composer and pianist Dimitar Nenov in terms of both performance and musicology. Documentary in character, this valuable edition is aimed at researchers and performers of Nenov’s work and all those interested in musical history and the fate of iconic names in Bulgarian cultural memory.
