Summary/Abstract: Uniformed services officers make many dietary mistakes, which, combined with the nature of their work, stress and other factors, may increase the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases in this professional group. The diet aimed at cardiovascular disease prevention should primarily include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, legumes, fish and dairy products, while limiting red meat (especially processed meat) and products containing saturated fatty acids and trans fats and/or table salt. It is important to emphasize that fol- lowing the principles of a healthy diet ensures the provision of all essential nutrients and does not require additional supplementation.
