Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the analysis of the pilot-judgment Walesa v. Poland, pronounced by the European Court of Human Rights, concluding that there had been a violation of Article 8 and Article 6 paragraph 1 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The author thus draws on the various reforms of the judicial system carried out, impacting the independence and impartiality of the Polish justice system, in order to highlight the existing “systemic and structural problems” in this field in Poland.
