Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the phenomenon of religious discrimination in the Romanian educational system, focusing on the experiences of Seventh-day Adventist students. By highlighting examples such as the challenges of opting out of religion classes, the exclusion from academic competitions and exams held on Saturdays, and the subtle pressures caused by differing lifestyles, the article sheds light on how the majority norms can marginalize minority religious groups. Particular attention is given to the Adventist practices of Sabbath observance and dietary restrictions, which often conflict with the structure and expectations of public education. Through real-life examples, such as the 1999 national capacity exam and the recent proposal for Saturday make-up classes, the article emphasizes the need for inclusive policies that respect religious diversity and fundamental rights. The discussion concludes with a call for dialogue and reform in educational policies to ensure equitable access to education for all students, regardless of their religious beliefs.
