Summary/Abstract: T. G. Masaryk’s central contribution to the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic was rewarded with the title “President Liberator”. He was convinced that democracy is the political form of humanity. In his view, the justification of new state lays in Czechoslovakia’s potential to realize human ideas. This article is written on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of death of this important politician and founder of the common and independent country of Czechs and Slovaks.
