Summary/Abstract: Evolution of the Museum Policy in Tunisia. The many archaeological discoveries around Sousse and its region have shown the need to collect and preserve the archaeological objects collected by the soldiers of the topographical brigade, the amateurs of antiquities and the archaeologists on mission in the regency of Tunis. On April 24, 1899, and under the instigation of the European communities and the city council, the first archaeological museum of Sousse was opened to the general public. Since then, the various archaeological museums established in the city have experienced a checkered evolution dictated by the various museum policies conducted in the country.
