Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to study symbolic class distances and the ways in which they are manifested in the everyday lives of the studied individuals. Based on empirical data collected in 2021 during Focus Group Interviews, we try to determine to what extent this phenomenon occurs in the Polish society and which areas of culture it affects the most. The respondents’ opinions concerned consumption practices and leisure activities. They show that people perceive signs of symbolic class distances. The respondents pointed to the connections between occupying class position and the brand of car, musical preferences, and the type of clothing; they also divided them into “better” and “worse.” In other areas of culture, this phenomenon does not occur or it displays weakly, which would support the hypothesis of a “partial” homology of class stratification and cultural participation.
