Summary/Abstract: In the mid-1930s, we witnessed the emergence of an entire literature depicting Jewish life in Romania, called “Jewish literature of the Romanian language”. For Al. Robot, the identity issue became a theme of artistic activity, perceived in extremis as an intellectual experience of the “dual root” or in universal terms, as a tragic conflict. Although he never denied his Jewish origin, he perceived Judaism and the question of identity primarily as an intellectual experience worthy of exploration in literary texts. The young poet believed in the typology of the universal citizen and assumed intellectualism as his identity. He developed it through accumulation and summation, as he was both a sensitive and rational character.
