Exercises of Katherine Vickers in the context of the keyboard music of Ivan Spassov

Summary/Abstract: The article is based on two compendium of exercises for contemporary keyboard music composed by the Canadian pianist Katherine Vickers, examined in the context of the keyboard style of Ivan Spassov. Shown and analyzed are some specific exercises, which especially successfully may be applied in the process of preparation of the performer in dealing with the challenges which place the keyboard works of Spassov. The exercises synthesize an elaboration of traction models, as well sound tasks, related to a specified articulation, attack on the keys and dynamics.
