Summary/Abstract: Piotr Zaremba is one of the most distinguished residents in Szczecin’s post-war history, primarily due to his contributions to rebuilding the ruined city. His achievements were recognized in 2000 when he was named Szczecinian of the Century. His authority as an urban planner and architect specializing in port structures earned him recognition beyond Poland’s borders. This facilitated his travels to numerous countries, including Nordic ones, where, as someone from the eastern side of the “Iron Curtain,” he attracted considerable interest. The article aims to explore the objectives of Zaremba’s delegations, their nature, and their significance for both the host countries and Szczecin’s professional community. The analysis shows that Zaremba’s travels to Nordic countries were political, cultural, and economic in nature. They yielded tangible results, such as establishing the Szczecin– Trelleborg ferry connection. These visits were part of Poland’s foreign policy and underscored Zaremba’s excellent reputation abroad.
