Legal limits and control of the Resolutions of the Security Council The author comes to the conclusion that at the present time the regulatory functions of international law, including the role of the Security Council and the legal significance of its resolutions for the maintenance of international peace and security are under strong challenge, but as a whole their legal role is not questioned. These play a positive role for the stability of the international system. There is a tendency to adapt the competences of the Security Council to the new international challenges and makes its activities more efficient. The conclusion in the article is that a reform is needed, but it could not be done in a short term.
