Summary/Abstract: The implementation of the Basic Rules for Processing Archival Materials and the ELZA application at the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences (MÚA) began in 2021. This initiative aims to standardize archival descriptions, improve data management, and integrate with national information systems like PEvA and CAM. The ELZA software, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, supports the efficient processing and publication of archival materials. The project also addresses the migration of existing data and the creation of new archival tools, ensuring long-term sustainability and accessibility. The ongoing efforts highlight the importance of adapting to digital advancements while maintaining rigorous archival standards. The implementation process includes the migration of digital objects, the creation of new archival aids, and the integration of ELZA with other national systems. The project has also involved extensive training and the development of internal methodologies to ensure effective use of the new system. The ultimate goal is to create a unified and efficient archival system that meets modern standards and enhances the accessibility of archival materials. The project is expected to be completed in the coming years, with continuous updates and improvements to the ELZA application.
