Summary/Abstract: Any situation that disrupts the education process and makes it inoperable is defined as a crisis in educational institutions. Crises are becoming increasingly complex and do not stop at borders. When schools are closed significant consequences are expected at multiple levels including student learning, development, and improvement; food, for which many students depend on school services and the stress placed on parents, who find themselves in the role of teacher without the necessary experience or resources. School closures negatively affect student achievement, especially in younger students and those from low socioeconomic status. Incorporating crisis management training into preservice and in-service preparation and support for education leaders can help them navigate crises more effectively.
