Summary/Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly caused great harm to cultural workers and culture in general in Macedonia. The pandemic was a shock for artists, a huge and unexpected barrier for culture and art, which in 2020, and even for a large part of 2021, had to squeeze through the eyes of a needle, for artists and cultural workers to survive, and for institutions to mostly postpone events for the following year. Folklore festivals were also not spared, perhaps they were the most affected. The text will discuss the challenges faced by the organizers of some festivals, as well as performers in a limited space for performance and presentation to the audience. Special focus will be placed on the Festival of Folk Instruments and Songs "Pece Atanasovski" - Dolneni, Prilep.
