Summary/Abstract: This article includes a reassessment of the Romanian constitutional definition of the place of religion in the public sphere, from 1866 to the 2003. We seek to understand how and to what extent constitutional texts include the defining elements for the public understanding and definition of the place of religion in the public sphere in Romania, and what place they occupy the constitutional arrangements of the Romanian State.
