Song as a Text for Listening Comprehension to Teach Belarusian as a Foreign Language

Summary/Abstract: Work with lyrics in class is aimed at developinglistening and speaking skills, sharing knowled-ge on Belarusian culture and national identity.Songs are effective in teaching language struc-ture, in developing speaking skills and languagecompetence. The article considers the glotto-didactic value of Belarusian songs (both folkand author’s songs). The contribution containspre-text and post-text exercises for songs “КасіўЯсь канюшыну” and “Такога няма нідзе” (ly-rics by L. Pugach, music by l. Volsky).
