Teaching Belarusian Literature in China

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the problems associatedwith teaching Belarusian literature to Chinesestudents in the higher education system ofChina. It describes the Chinese traditions inteaching literature at school and students’perception of literary works. A method ofselection of Belarusian literary works, as well asthe peculiarities of working with prose and poetryare proposed. The main emphasis is placed onthe objectives of the course - to help understandthe extralinguistic factors of the Belarusianmentality through the students’ acquaintancewith Belarusian literature.
