Summary/Abstract: The regaining of independence by the Polish state in 1918, right from the very beginning, gave rise to many political and legal problems that had to be resolved immediately. On February 10, 1925, Poland and the Holy See signed a concordat that led to many social and legal changes in the country. The article presents the legal issue and the circumstances of the termination of the concordat by the Provisional Government of National Unity and its consequences for the relations between the Catholic Church and the then authorities. Therefore, legal acts and literature on the subject were used in this study. The dogmatic-legal and historical-legal methods were used due to the time frame of the presented issue. In addition, the position of both parties involved in the dispute was also presented.
