I. G. Sbiera to Petru Poni and Ioan Bianu. Correspondence

Summary/Abstract: The correspondence between two personalities of the time constitutes precious sources for reconstructing fragments of the historical landscape of the social and cultural space of the Romanians, in our case, from Bukovina. Through the correspondence carried out by I. G. Sbiera with the philologist Ioan Bianu, as well as with Professor Petru Poni, it was possible to reconstruct fragments of the scholarʼs life and activity in the cultural field. In addition to the official correspondence found in the archives of Chernivtsi, we identified in the National Archives of Romania, Iași Branch, and in the “I. Bianu” Fund at the Romanian Academy Library a series of letters that reflect both the concerns of I. G. Sbiera, as a teacher at the gymnasium in Chernivtsi, and those as a scholar and member of the highest scientific forum in the Romanian space
