Summary/Abstract: The recent discovery in Tomis of four steles with dedications by the priests of Poseidon Helikonios brings into discussion the dossier of testimonies of the god's cult. The four steles date from the 3rd century BC. The article presents the new inscriptions and discusses the names of the priests, other attestations of Poseidon in Tomis, the dedicated sums, and the place of Poseidon in the Tomis pantheon. All this shows the importance of the god's cult in the ancient Greek city, known for its maritime and commercial vocation.
