Women in the populations structures of Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The modern gender approach is applied in studying the population structures (by sex and cross-classification of other particularities). The aim is to achieve qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the female population to be estimated by examining the relevant processes and trends. Accordingly information of long-term series is considered in order to eliminate the temporarly impacting factors and to capture more stable trends. Besides the demographie structures, some demographic and economic aspects regarding preparing of women for fulfilment of their social roles are reviewed. In this connection some new problems of women's employment and unemployment during the last three years are pointed out.
