Summary/Abstract: The author presents a small coin hoard found near the city of Orhei, Republic of Moldova, containing provincial issues from the Marcus Aurelius - Philippus period, of some mints from Thrace and Macedonia. Some of them are attested for the first time in this area outside the borders of the Roman Empire, being little known in the whole region of the Lower Danube, such as that the one of Nicopolis ad Mestum. Most likely, it is a "purse hoard", a small amount for current expenses, set up somewhere in the South Balkans and brought north of the limes through the movement of people, not by trade.
