Summary/Abstract: The paper proposes a new interpretation of a recently published inscription from south-west Lycia, endeavouring to find elements of the so-called “confessioninscriptions” in а text commemorating the first alleged occurrence of human activity in a (sacred?) forest at a place called Kartapis.
