Summary/Abstract: Lessons of common sense and wisdom, proverbs have been seen as powerful tools in educating people. The analysis in this article focuses on various values: courage, steadfastness, generosity, through evaluated entities that can be called culturemes, within two semantic ethno fields represented by the verb a face and its corresponding English versions to do vs to make as well as the term all which can be an adjective, an adverb or a pronoun. The culturematic analysis will be displayed through three types of illocutions that appear in the message – confirmation, recommendations vs warnings. Observations will be made regarding the translation/equivalence methods that marked each paremia of the 72 paremic units I have worked on, as a paremic minimum.
