Summary/Abstract: The study of the ceramic batch from Geangoești Hulă, a Gumelnița-Karanovo VI culture site north to Danube River, bring forward artefacts related to the process of transformation of fibres into threads, especially new evidence of what it is known as "spinning bowls", as well as other type of vessels related to the processing of yarn.It is the starting point for discussing a special type of making threads from vegetal fibres practiced in European prehistory, Mediterranean ancient period as well in traditional nowadays communities, the splicing technique, and the possibility that in the region of Old Europe the invention of ’spinning bowls’ was related to the generalization of weaving technique.
