The Coefficient Of Variation as a Possibility For Market Analysis And Determination of The Need for Reinsurance Protection In Property Insurance in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: The object of the development is the state of the property insurance market in Bulgaria. The subject is related to risk exposure in property insurance, and the goal is to establish the necessity of utilizing reinsurance protection for individual cases. One of the pathways to establishing this necessity is by calculating the coefficient of variation concerning the paid compensations, the net loss ratio, and the probability of occurrence of insurance events for individual property insurances. As a result of the study, the objective has been attained since the obtained results demonstrate and provide justification for the necessity of reinsurance protection for certain property insurances available in the insurance market in Bulgaria.
