Summary/Abstract: The poetic story is a particular type of literary form that appeared at the end of the 19th century, originating from the innovative efforts of some poets like Rimbaud, Baudelaire, Mallarmé. The poetic story gets beyond the frame of poetry, placing characters in a specified or an unspecified period of time and in a space that can be defined or not. Jean-Yves Tadié’s work, "Le récit poétique", admirably treated the problematics of this hybrid literary form.
