Summary/Abstract: Introduction and aim: Nurses are the largest professional team in the health care system, helping to break the cycle of addiction and promote overall well-being by addressing both immediate medical needs and long-term recovery goals. This study was written to address nursing approaches to addiction. Method: Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in this study. Academic national and international databases related to the subject for the last ten years were scanned and included in the study according to the inclusion criteria and evaluated using a descriptive approach. Results:According to the results obtained, nursing is the leading group that works with dependent people and has mechanisms to protect itself in terms of addiction and occupational risks that it may be exposed to. Conclusions: Improving working conditions, strengthening professional support mechanisms and implementing monitoring and prevention policies will play an important role in reducing addiction risks among nurses.
