Summary/Abstract: The current study presents data on the reliability and factor structure of the Big Five Inventory - 2 (BFI - 2, Soto & John, 2017) among Bulgarian adolescents. The instrument assesses five domains – Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Negative Emotionality, and Open-Mindedness, along with their adjacent facets. The purpose of the study is the adaptation of the Big Five Questionnaire - 2 for a Bulgarian adolescent sample. Data were obtained from a total of 1030 students aged 11 to 19 years (M=15.61; SD=1.7). The sample was relatively balanced in terms of gender. The levels of internal consistency of the five domains were acceptable. The sample was randomly divided into two parts, on which exploratory and confirmatory analysis were successively conducted. The results of the exploratory analysis indicated the presence of five domains. On each factor, the expected three facets were loaded with factor loadings higher than 0.400. Confirmatory analysis was utilized to verify the original model of Soto & John (2017) as well as several modified models.
