Summary/Abstract: In general, the feasts organized in the Greek cities were closely related to the practice of different religious cults. Public festivals were good occasions to honour the deities worshiped in the city. Our study focuses on the comparative research of the festivals dedicated to Apollo at Miletus and in its Milesian colonies at Pontus Euxinus. The festivals dedicated to Apollo (Hebdomaia, Noumenia, Thargelia, Boedromia, Pyanopsia and Metageitnia) had an important share both in the calendar of Miletus and in the calendars of its colonies at Pontus Euxinus (Sinope, Apollonia Pontica, Odessos, Dionysopolis, Tomis, Istros, Tyras, Olbia, Nymphaion, Pantikapaion, Gorgippia, Hermonassa, Tanais). In Miletus and Olbia, the cult associations of the Molpoi and Neomeniastai celebrated Apollo Delphinios and Neomenios. The religious festivals dedicated to Apollo took place, as everywhere in the Greek world, on the first and seventh day of the month. The festivals held in Apollo’s honor are mainly related to agricultural activities (Thargelia, Pyanopsia). On the other hand, Metageitnia and Boedromia celebrate the solidarity and brotherhood of the Ionians, being introduced in the traditional religious calendar of the Ionians since the post-Mycenaean era.
