Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author sketches the issue of the exclusion of persons with disabilities fromthe field of employment and explains the causes of the difficult-to-surmount discriminationon the open labour market that affects this social group. The discussed issues are presentedwith reference to the theory of disability studies and the socio-cultural model of disabilityperceiving disability as a product of the dominant discourse. Presenting the problem ofthe marginalisation of people with disabilities on the labour market, the author goes backto the roots of any exclusion created in the era of early industrial capitalism, which createdand then excluded the “unproductive body” from the field of employment. In the followingsection, referring to the concept of the economic model of disability, areas of economicoppression, discursively perpetuated exclusionary practices and actions attempting to resistthe imposed order, through the painstaking “forging of new lines of outlet”, fighting againstthe despotism of the capitalist labour market are discussed.
