Summary/Abstract: Editing the memoirs of dr. Dan Bicleanu, born on September 16, 1925, in Târgu - Neamț, in the old house of his maternal grandparents, located on "Ștefan cel Mare" street or "Strada Mare" as it was commonly called, is a good opportunity to mentally reconstruct an image of a small town from the interwar period. Being a student of Primary School no. 1 of Băieți (Prince's School) from Târgu - Neamț, in the period 1931-1936 and the son of Ion Bicleanu, teacher, for many years director of School no. 1 "Grigore Ghica-Vodă" Boys, we also have the opportunity to capture aspects of the history of families, education and a vintage flavor of the city's protipendada. The Bicleanu family was in the center of attention of the one who wrote the memoirs, Dan Bicleanu. The teacher Ion Bicleanu - the father - was recognized as a "society man", he had the reputation of a good "causeur" so that in the circle of friends the conversation never languished, and when one topic was exhausted he had prepared another topic, which would open another theme , to start the conversation again: he had a lot of humor, from English times, he didn't shy away from organizing pranks, which delighted his friends. Teacher Bicleanu's father was the son of priest Nicolae Bicleanu, from Boiștea, also a teacher in the village. He had six sisters, five of whom were married to priests. The grandson, Dan Bicleanu, testifies that this was of great importance in his childhood, because he spent his holidays sometimes at some people's, sometimes at others', which he liked because it drove away boredom.Dan Bicleanu – childhood memories (I) The wife of the teacher Ion Bicleanu, Varvara, née Drăghici, cherished by the Virginia family, was the mother of Dan Bicleanu, future doctor and author of the manuscript that provides us with precious information about the family, the school and the city. Grandparents also have a special place in these memoirs, with their life stories. In the editing of the first part of Dan Bicleanu's memoirs, the focus is on "childhood homes" and on details about the city of Târgu - Neamț. The late decision to write about his memories from childhood and adolescence was a result of the fact that he always wondered if what he related could still interest someone, if not, in his love for his native places, he did not exaggerate the value of the facts and to the people who were part of his life. He did not exaggerate, what he wrote matters in the history of the city.
