Summary/Abstract: Anthropic modification and climate change generate the degradation of biodiversity with the loss of some animal species, such as the beaver, which reappeared in the ponds in the Lower Prut area, over five centuries, due to its repopulation in Romania. The success of the beaver’s colonization in the conditions of global warming will depend on the protection of aquatic resources in river ponds and the regulation of predators.
