Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of the study of rare species of the Geranium family (Geraniaceae Juss.) in the vascular flora of the Republic of Moldova. e family is represented by 2 genera (storksbills – Erodium L’Her. and geranium – Geranium L.), containing 17 species, over half of them (9 species) are rare: Erodium ciconium (L.) L`Her., E. ruthenicum M.Bieb., Geranium columbinum L., G. molle L., G. palustre L., G. phaeum L., G. pyrenaicum Burm. fil., G. rotundifolium L. and G. sylvaticum L. Species distribution, bioecological and populational characteristics are described. Estimation of threat status and recommendations on the bases of species inclusion in the lists of species protected by law in the Republic of Moldova are given.
