Summary/Abstract: The following work provides a brief overview of the presence of Russian literature in the literary context of Bulgaria after 2010. The aim is to outline leading trends and patterns in the choice of contemporary authors whose works are translated in the country, as well as the readers’ and critics’ response to them. Alongside this, it examines the role of ideology as a factor in publishing decisions and in the context of the reception of the translations. It also discusses the interest in Russian classical works in two aspects: the appearance of unpublished works and the reprinting of old ones, and in full versions. In relation to the second case, the question of the need for new translations is thematized, as the latest Bulgarian editions of M. Bulgakov’s novel ‘The Master and Margarita’ provide a topic of discussion.
