SCIENCE, RELIGION, IDEOLOGY CONTRIBUTIONS FOR CRITICAL HISTORY OF „OUR“ SOCIOLOGY OR RELIGION

Summary/Abstract: This paper is accompanying study for a translation of manuscript of PhD thesis written by Kjell Magnusson, linguist and sociologist from Hugo Valentine Institute at Uppsala University (Sweden). Magnusson defended his thesis: “Theoretical Perspectives of Yugoslav Sociology of Religion”, in 1987. Translation will be published as monographic edition of Institute of Ethnography SASA. We considered that it is going to be useful to publish this study independently, as separate article, because it can be used not only as the frame of interpretation of Magnusson`s work, but also as a contribution to history of sociology of religion in Yugoslav region. This paper brings deliberation of relations between science, religion and ideology in the socialism. It also speaks about influence that dominant scientific paradigms of that time have on contemporary religious studies.
