Summary/Abstract: The study focuses on the developing cinema industry in Carpathian Rutheniaand specifically on the town of Berehovo (and its surroundings), where a large Hungarian-Jewish population lived. The text goes on to describe the complicated operationof the Korso cinema in Berehovo, where the business interests of the hotel ownerand the educational activities of local patriotic societies and foundations were intertwined.The text also briefly describes the functioning of the Red Cross cinema,which was the only association that managed to run a cultural stand until the end ofCzechoslovakia. In addition, the reader can also get acquainted with an overview ofsome Czech and foreign films that the audience could see during the First Republicin this small administrative town.
