Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the transmission of tradition and Christian values in pedagogy, which are a firm part of philosophical and pedagogical thought in the European area. We are living in a time of profound ethical, social and cul- tural changes in an opinion-plural atmosphere of social relations. The use of appropriate language therefore remains an important didactic tool in values education today. An equally important element in the transmission of values to future generations is dealing with the content of moral education in the family and in schools. The paper focused mainly on the assessment of the state of moral education in our primary schools. It presents the results of a research probe on this topic, which brings us closer to how the content goals of moral education in Slovak primary schools are set. These are implemented in its various forms such as value, ethical, pro-social or character education.
