Summary/Abstract: This is a story from Kashuby in the North Poland about a great-grandfather of the author. Franc was a German soldier during the I World War. A few weeks after the Germans annected the Free City of Gdansk/ Danzig he had been arrested and sent to a concentration camp whre he died. This is a moving description of his last day in freedom.
