Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present the essence of culture in the view of Karol Wojtyła inrelation to his conception of the subjectivity of human person. Culture, as a specific way of hu-man existence and being, is confirmed through the analysis of the problem of subjectivity whichit is created through actions as the proper activity of the human person. In the light of the concep-tion of subjectivity, Wojtyła brings to light his notion of the constitution of culture of humanwork in relation to the transitive actions and human culture or culture of person in relation to theintransitive actions. In this notion, he accentuates the subject and goal of culture that is the humanperson himself.
