Summary/Abstract: Gardens have been a fundamental form of nature that showed, since ancient times, how people understood their purpose and how they believed they should intervene in a civilising manner, in order to adapt the garden to their specific needs. This paper aims to analyse the medieval garden, especially the monastic one, under the influence of the Christian paradigm.
