Summary/Abstract: The red oil rose (Rosa damascena Mill) is a culture of priority in Bulgaria, primarily due to its production of rose oil. However, this cultivation is constantly threatened by the green rose aphid (Macrosiphum Rosae L.), a pest that is widespread in the country and causes severe damage to the red oil rose. The research has uncovered a significant finding-climate change has a profound impact on the population density of the green rose aphid. This has serious implications for rose cultivation, as unfavourable weather conditions, such as rainfall and high summer temperatures, can significantly hinder the development of this pest.
