Vasil Karazin and the Foundation of the Harkov University (200 Years Anniversary)

Summary/Abstract: An official ceremony will be held in January 2005, celebrating the 200 anniversary of the Harkov University . the second university in tsarist.s Russia after the Moscow University and the first one in Ukraine. Thanks to this the city and the region became one of the most significant science, industrial and educational centres in old Russia, as well as the Soviet Union. In modern Ukraine the Harkov University is an important factor in the political, social and science life. This success is Karazin.s merit . Vasil Nazarovich Karazin, a great Bulgarian, whom must be proud not only Russia and Ukraine, but Bulgaria as well. The author reviews the life of the impressive and innovatory activities of V. Karazin.
