Theological Law Schools in Islam

Summary/Abstract: Following a certain path according to the theological school of law in Islam is a school of legal thought - mazhab. However, not all Muslims believe that adhering to one of the mashabi is mandatory, which makes this issue relevant even nowadays. Proceeding from this point of view, the report examines the reasons and conditions for the emergence of four Sunni and one Shia religious law schools, and attempts to reveal their essence, principles and distinctive features.
