Summary/Abstract: In our country, the history of entrepreneurship is mostly included in the history of economics and is a field that is not complimented by the general history discipline. In fact, the history of entrepreneurship offers more objective information in terms of understanding the economic and cultural codes of political change. This study examines the history of entrepreneurship in terms of the development of political history. The main thesis of the study is to discuss the tendency of entrepreneurial activities to closely follow political, social and economic developments/changes and to internalize emerging opportunities in their favor. The basic success of entrepreneurial activity is commensurate with its adaptation to political and economic changes as well as the quality/price of the products it produces/offers. In this respect, the change and development process of the "entrepreneurial typology" within the newly established state structure during and after the transition from the Empire to the national state has been subjected to a mentality analysis in the specific case of Eczacıbaşı Company. The main argument of the purges of the empire is centered on the emphasis on "rally under the flag" and "nationality". In fact, entrepreneurial activities become more important in the city of İzmir, where the most intense nationalism debates took place in the process from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic. The impact of modernization practices (deterministically and stochastically) on the socio-economic structure of the Ottoman Empire and the adaptation of Eczacıbaşı's activities, which started with a specific area of expertise in Izmir in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, to political, social and cultural interactions and their results constitute the scope of the study. The most important outcome of the study is the determination that entrepreneurial activities should not be based on economic endeavors alone, but should also take into account political and social changes simultaneously.
