Summary/Abstract: In Togo, 51.1% of women work in agriculture, compared with 48.9% of men, but they have difficulty gaining access to the means of production. The rulers in Togo sought solutions to correct this injustice. This article is based on an analysis of archival documents and field surveys, to study the conditions of access for women farmers to land from 1980 to 2017. The study found that, despite initiatives to facilitate this access, reticence and traditions are realities that, have not allowed progress to be made on the ground.
