Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the opportunities for the social entrepreneurship development in the Kyustendil town and its area of 71 villages. They are facing challenges such as: lower than the national average GDP, depopulation of villages in the district, lack of qualified specialists and sufficient jobs in the town, etc. Various aspects of social entrepreneurship are presented through a brief theoretical overview. Using a published integrated SWOT analysis of the municipality and taking into account the challenges facing social entrepreneurship in Kyustendil and the region, concrete ideas for its development are presented that can help improving the quality of life of local people and promote economic growth in the municipality.
