Summary/Abstract: The Bytom State participated indirectly in the Second Northern War as a border country, an area through which the Habsburg armies marched, and a supply base. Based on archival sources, the work presents the situation of the Bytom state between 1655–1660. The described lands experienced war destruction and conflicts between the civilian population and soldiers. These events led to a deepening crisis resulting from the Thirty Years’ War.
